Ginger Hill Terms and Conditions for Camping & Caravanning

The Greener Camping Club

Due to our rural location we are only able to operate by virtue of being Greener Camping Club members only ‘Certificated Campsite’. We have an obligation to the issuing authority to ensure that all guests are members of The Greener Camping Club. Membership costs just £10 per year – membership runs from 1st January to 31st December. Only one membership is required for each occupied tent, campervan, caravan or motorhome. We will issue your membership before you arrive for your holiday when you book. Your membership fee will be added to your holiday fees. Find out more about the club: www.greenercamping.org. (http://www.greenercamping.org/ ).

As a member, the Greener Camping Club only holds your name and email address.

Payment

We request a 50% conditionally-refundable deposit when booking your stay with us.  Receipt of the deposit secures your booking.  Pre-booked dates are held for up to seven days provisionally, after which, if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released again. The balance is required six weeks prior to your arrival date. For short lead-time bookings – i.e. those booked less than four weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your camping or caravanning holiday 29 days or more before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday, we will refund your deposit less a 20% admin fee. If you have also paid your balance and you need to cancel your camping or caravanning holiday 28 days or less before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday for the dates you have booked, we will refund your deposit and balance less a 20% admin fee. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refunds will be made. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancelling, please take out holiday insurance. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement.

Cancellation by us

Ginger Hill reserves the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe accommodation or camping or caravanning environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Ginger Hill cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

Arrival & Departure Times

The arrival time for our camping and caravanning pitches is from 1pm. We are always grateful if you can give us a rough idea of what time you think you will be arriving so we can guide you to the right pitch and we ask that you tell us in advance if you expect to arrive after 9pm.

On your day of departure, we ask that you vacate our camping pitches by 11am.

Day visitors

Day visitors are only permitted with prior agreement with us as Site owners and must make themselves known on arrival.

Consideration to others

Ginger Hill is a peaceful quiet camp and caravan site for the enjoyment of nature around us. It is important to us that all of our guests feel relaxed and enjoy a good nights sleep ready to explore Pembrokeshire. We do not allow amplified music – only quiet radios and stereos are permitted until 10.30pm. please be mindful of respecting other guests if your music is disturbing them. Likewise, quiet talking only is permitted after 11pm. if we feel that any camper is disturbing the peace or is causing a nuisance they may be asked to leave immediately and without a refund.

Children

There are many opportunities for play and adventure on our land. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. There are contingent risks to be aware of. We have animals onsite and ponds that appreciate respect.  Ginger Hill accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.

Dogs

We allow well behaved dogs on leads. If we have a large number of dogs on the campsite we may restrict new bookings that include dogs. Please keep your dog under control on the site and clean up the mess, particularly as we often have young children playing barefoot in the site.

Smoking Policy

If you smoke, do so outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the campfire or bin. If the weather is very dry be mindful of disposing the cigarette end responsibly.

Campfires and Barbeques

Please only use the designated campfire places. If you bring your own fire pit or barbecue with you, be mindful to not burn or scorch the grass. We do not permit disposable barbecues. (they cannot be recycled or composted). Do not leave your campfire/ barbeque unattended and think carefully about whether to light a fire if it is windy. Please make sure you leave all barbeques and fires outside even if you think it has gone out. Carbon Monoxide is a deadly, invisible poison. There is an ash bin nearby our recycling point. Please do not put Hot Ash in the Ash bin. This is a fire hazard. There are fire extinguishers on site which will be pointed out to on your arrival.

We also hire out Firepits for a small fee. Logs and kindling are available to buy on site, along with matches and firelighters.

Parking

When you arrive, we are happy for you to site you tent or caravan and park near the tent caravan provided the ground is in a suitable condition to drive on. If the ground is unsuitable we will advise you.

Rubbish and recycling

As part of our affiliation to Greener Camping Club, we ask you to recycle your rubbish.

This means separating (and rinsing) glass and cans, paper, cardboard etc and placing it in the special bins provided. What is left i.e. only items that are not recyclable, should be placed in the landfill bin.

Chemical Toilet Disposal

If you bring a portable toilet and wish to dispose of the contents in our septic tank, please ensure that the chemical used does not contain formaldehyde, chlorine, blech or any other corrosive/toxic chemical. We can supply (at cost) a chemical that is 100% biodegradable and septic tank friendly.

Lost/stolen property

Ginger Hill cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Mobile signal and Wi-fi

Mobile phone signal is hit and miss in this rural area so please do not rely on it working. We do not have Wi-fi on the campsite.
